Iraq’s coronavirus cases rise by 3,501 to 420,303

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq reported 3,501 new coronavirus cases on Friday, raising the total number to 420,303, said the country’s ministry of health.

In a statement, the ministry said it had recorded 1,140 new infections in Baghdad, 398 in Duhok, 275 in Erbil, 259 in Sulaimani, 201 in Wasit, 186 in Diyala, 150 in Nineveh, 146 in Basra, 118 in Maysan, 115 in Babil, 107 in Kirkuk and 102 in Najaf.

The ministry further said 98 other cases were in Saladin, 61 in Dhi Qar, 47 in Karbala, 38 in Diwaniyah, 31 in Muthanna and 29 in Anbar.

The Iraqi ministry added that 56 more patients had died, bringing the death toll to 10,142.

Up to 3,210 more patients had recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 353,962, the ministry said.
