SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has launched a website for citizens and Iraqi displaced persons as well as refugees to register to receive coronavirus vaccine.
“Receiving coronavirus vaccine is considered as an important part of protection measures,” the KRG health ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that a limited amount of vaccine was currently available in the Kurdistan Region, which is dedicated for special groups such as healthcare workers, people with chronic diseases, people over 60 years, members of the security forces and Peshmerga, and teachers teaching students of 12 grade.
It also called on other citizens as well as displaced persons and refugees to register in the website it released on Sunday to receive coronavirus vaccine.
Iraq has also launched a website run by the ministry of health for citizens who want to register to get vaccinated.
The Kurdistan Region has received 5,000 doses of China’s Sinopharm vaccine and 43,000 doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine.

As of Sunday, the Kurdistan Region’s total number of infections had reached 125,146 coronavirus cases, with 3,715 deaths, figures released by the health ministry showed.
