Clashes erupt between Asayish and ‘Commando’ forces in Sulaimani, one died

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Clashes erupted between members of Asayish (security) forces and another force in Tasluja area in Sulaimani city on Wednesday, Esta Media Network reporter said.

The reporter said clashes erupted between Asayish forces and a unit of “Commando Forces” at Tasluja checkpoint in west of Sulaimani city.

The “Commando Force” unit who was on duty returned from Kirkuk to Sulaimani, he added.

A member of Asayish forces died after he was transferred to Shar hospital in Sulaimani city, the reporter said. Four other personnel were wounded.

“Knives were used in the clashes, not weapons,” the reporter said.
