SULAIMANI – (ESTA) The Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG) has issued several decisions regarding the companies that took citizens to Hajj with annual visas and tourism.
The Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG) announced in a statement that, “In order to investigate taking the citizens of the region to Saudi Arabia to perform the obligatory hajj outside the ministry, which caused the death and disappearance of several of our citizens, by ministerial decree No. 117 on June 3, 2024, a committee was formed with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Interior and the prosecutor general.”.
“As a first step, the committee decided that the companies that have been complained about and took citizens to Saudi Arabia on annual visas, tourism and other types, until the investigation is completed, are suspended and not eligible to participate in Umrah trips,” the ministry declared.
“Those companies that have no problems and have legally taken citizens to Hajj through our ministry will be notified through the General Directorate of Hajj and Umrah that they will participate in Umrah trips after the issuance of instructions from the directorate,” the ministry added.
At the end, the Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs said, “Any citizen who has a complaint against any person or company that has been deprived of his rights and illegally treated and suffered through various visas within 10 days can complain to the General Directorate of the Ministry’s Office, Legal Directorate and Contracts to record.”.
