SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Security authorities in Erbil on Thursday destroyed thousands of pistols which were seized by the security forces in the past months.
The General Directorate of Asayish (security) said in a statement that it had destroyed 5,000 Turkish-manufactured pistols in Erbil city.
“We will carry on with seizing all those unlicensed and illicit weapons which have caused a danger and wrongdoing in the community,” the Asayish directorate added.
In September, the security forces confiscated more than 1,500 types of guns and AK-47 in a house in Erbil city.
