SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A number of Kurdish lawmakers announced the formation of a new alliance within the Iraqi Council of Representatives, controlling 15 seats.
The lawmakers announced Kurdistan Hope Alliance in a press conference on Monday evening.
“We are announcing to the public that our joint works enter a new stage; the formation of Kurdistan Hope Alliance including 15 lawmakers from the different Kurdistani blocs,” a statement released by them said.
“We agreed to refuse all kinds of political chauvinism, ideology and sectarianism, and we will work to prepare a reform program, which will be above partiality,” the statement read.
“We are calling for the formation of a reform alliance against the corrupt alliance, which has put the country in such a big danger.”
The lawmakers were from Change Movement, Kurdistan Islamic Union, Kurdistan Islamic Group and Aynda (future) as well as independent parliamentarians.
They further said “the lack of a complete government and the interest of corrupters are reasons why the relations between the Regional government and Iraqi government” had reached impasse.
“We have no enmity against any party or person, but we will harshly stand against corruption from any party,” they added.
