The Iraqi population experimental census will begin tomorrow

SULAIMANI – (ESTA) The experimental population census is scheduled to begin tomorrow in the cities of the Kurdistan Region and all other Iraqi provinces. In 86 neighborhoods of 18 provinces، it will continue for 14 days.

The Planning Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Tamim, announces that “the researchers and accountants will arrive at the designated locations between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and will continue until 4:00 p.m. daily throughout the days of the experimental census.”.

“Researchers and accountants will wear special identification clothing, including a beige jacket and hats with census slogans embroidered on them, as well as maroon identity cards,” he said.

The identity cards were issued by the Ministry of Planning and، in the case of the Kurdistan Region, by the Kurdistan Regional Statistical Board, as Mohammed Tamim pointed out.

He mentioned, “The teams have a tablet device and do not ask for biometric information such as eye and finger reading.”.

The 86 residential areas covered by the experimental census are divided into 450 blocks and distributed across all provinces, with 20–30 blocks in each province. 764 researchers, artists and administrative staff of the statistics board will participate.

The census will be conducted in eight neighborhoods of Sulaimani, three neighborhoods of Erbil, eight neighborhoods of Duhok and four neighborhoods of Kirkuk.
