SULAIMANI – (ESTA) Several U.S. military personnel were injured in a missile attack by Iranian-backed rebels on Al-Asad Airbase in Iraq on Saturday night, the Pentagon said.

“Iranian-backed militants fired several ballistic missiles” at the base, the statement continued, adding that “most of the missiles were intercepted by defense systems, while others hit on the base.”

Twelve missiles were fired at the base, four of which were shot down and eight of which crashed inside, according to an Iraqi military officer.
