SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A total of 37 individuals have been arrested at Sulaimani International Airport for possessing fake documents this year, seeking unauthorized entry into the Kurdistan Region.
The Immigration Directorate has reported that 37 individuals, including both Iraqi citizens and foreigners, have been arrested at the residence center of Sulaimani International Airport (SIA) for attempting to travel to the Kurdistan Region with counterfeit documents.
This has been an ongoing issue since the beginning of the year.
The confiscated fake documents have been promptly handed over to the court for further investigation. Necessary legal actions will be taken against the offenders to ensure the safety and security of the airport and its passengers, according to the Immigration Directorate.
