Iraqi PM arrives in Moscow, meeting with Putin expected

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani has arrived in Moscow for an official visit on Tuesday, according to a statement from his Media Office.

The visit is expected to focus on strengthening ties between Iraq and Russia. The Prime Minister is also expected to engage in high-level meetings with Russian officials.

Russian media has reported that talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Iraqi prime minister are expected to take place later in the day.

The discussions will cover various aspects of cooperation between Russia and Iraq, as well as pressing global issues, particularly the situation in the Middle East.

On Wednesday, both leaders will participate in a plenary session of the Russian Energy Week forum. This meeting marks the first encounter between Putin and Al-Sudani.
