PUK leader confident of substantial votes in upcoming elections

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leadership council expressed confidence on Monday that their party would secure a substantial number of votes in the upcoming elections.

In his recent statement, Stran Abdullah, a member of the PUK leadership council, announced the successful conclusion of an “intensive congress” held by the party.

The PUK’s fifth congress took place in Sulaimani on Wednesday, gathering members from across Kurdistan to discuss the party’s future direction and elect a new leadership.

During the congress, Talabani was re-elected as the party president, and several new faces were added to the leadership council after five days of deliberation.

Abdullah highlighted the active participation of all members in attendance, stating that the congress served as a platform for comprehensive discussions on various aspects.

Abdullah also revealed that a proposal had been made to establish a committee responsible for clarifying the PUK’s policies to members and supporters who were unable to attend the congress.

“This initiative aims to ensure that all individuals associated with the party are well-informed about its vision and objectives,” he said.

Expressing his belief in the party’s prospects, Abdullah confidently stated that the PUK would secure a significant number of votes in the upcoming elections, solidifying its position as a major political force.
