Kurdish authorities confiscate considerable amount of illicit narcotics

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region security forces confiscated more than 50 kilograms of drugs and arrested a drug trafficking gang, according to the Region’s Security service (Asayish) on Sunday.

“Following an order from a security investigation judge to dismantle a drug trafficking network, our directorate collaborated with the Investigation and Supervision Directorate of the General Directorate of Security to seize 51 kilograms of crystal drugs,” it said.

“As a result of this successful operation, three individuals who were known to have been involved in drug trafficking for a significant period of time were apprehended and taken into custody,” it added.
