SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President on Wednesday met with the Syrian Ambassador to Iraq, Sattam al-Dandah, in Baghdad.
In the meeting, Syria-PUK “historic” ties and the general situation of Iraq were highlighted, according to the readout of the meeting by Talabani’s office.
They also discussed the security situation in the area and stressed expanding intelligence and military cooperation to fight the remnants of the terrorists.
The pair also exchanged their views regarding the current situation in Syria, where Talabani called for a peaceful resolution of the issues.
“Going back to dialogue and understanding is the only way of resolving the issues and overcoming the obstacles,” he stressed.
