SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A ranking member of the Peshmerga Ministry was fatally shot in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, on Sunday.
Colonel Fuad Shahid Zrara was killed following a shootout with several unidentified assailants.
The incident took place near Erbil international airport.
The colonel succumbed to his wounds resulting from the gunshots en route to the hospital.
The assailants’ motive have remained unclear.
