Iraq bans Telegram over ‘security concerns’

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq’s Ministry of Communication on Sunday decided to ban Telegram.

The Ministry cited concerns over national security and data protection regarding the decision to ban the app, according to a statement.

“The app violated the instructions of users’ safety,” the Ministry said in a statement.
