SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani and Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl Al-Haq Qais Khazali on Tuesday discussed the latest political developments.
Talabani and Khazali met in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, earlier today.
They stressed strengthening the legal and constitutional institutions in a way to meet the current situation’s needs and the people’s demands.
During the meeting, the two sides touched upon strengthening the bilateral ties, as well as expanding coordination for the sake of creating a national consensus regarding national issues.
In the meantime, the two officials highlighted the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, where Talabani stressed the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional rights.
Talabani reiterated that his party’s priority is to achieve the constitutional rights of the Kurdish people and serve them, reaffirming his continued efforts “for the sake of fulfilling this high goal.”
