Kurdistan Security Service announces arrest of dozen foreigners

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region Security Service (Asayish) on Tuesday announced the arrest of dozen foreigners for attempting to cross the Region’s borders illegally, according to a statement.

“After launching investigations and obtaining thorough information, the operation forces arrested 64 foreigners on July 16,” a statement released by Asayish read.

“Six other suspects charged with human smuggling have been arrested,” the statement added.

It further added that the arrested intended to illegally cross the Region’s border in exchange for a sum of money.

“Investigations still underway.”
