Deputy Chief of Mission confirms US’s commitment to supporting Iraq

During the meeting, the President emphasized the importance of the relationship between Iraq- the United States, “which is extended to the various issues of common concern.”

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday confirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Iraq.

Iraqi President Latif Rashid received David Burger, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, according to a statement released by Rashid’s office.

During the meeting, the President emphasized the importance of the relationship between Iraq- the United States, “which is extended to the various issues of common concern.”

As part of his remarks in regard to the issue of displaced persons, Rashid underscored the crucial role that the United Nations agencies can play in ensuring that the issue of displaced persons is addressed once and for all, and that the way that allows them to return home is created.

In the meantime, the US diplomat confirmed the US commitment to supporting Iraq’s security and stability. In addition, he affirmed the US’s eagerness to further develop bilateral relations with Iraq.
