PUK, KDP hold high-ranking meeting on bilateral ties, political situation

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A high-ranking meeting between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) on Monday kicked off in Erbil.

A senior KDP delegation made a visit to the rival PUK headquarters earlier this morning.

They were received by PUK President Bafel Talabani, as well as Qubad Talabani, the head of President Mam Jalal’s secretariat office.

Among those who were included in the KDP delegation was Fazil Mirani, and Fuad Hussein, who serves as the current Iraqi Foreign Minister.

“The KDP’s visit aims to hold talks on the bilateral ties and Kurdistan Region political situation,” an informed source told Esta.

Official statements are likely to be released soon enough regarding the meeting.
