Huge dairy factory to be inaugurated in Halabja, says Deputy Premier

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Deputy Prime Minister on Sunday announced that a huge dairy factory will be inaugurated in the Halabja province in the coming year.

Rasan dairy production factory which is currently under construction will be one of the biggest factories in the area, and seriously boosts the Kurdistan Region’s economy by providing thousands of job opportunities for locals.

The livestock industry is also expected to extremely flourish in the region by its inauguration.

The Deputy Prime Minister made a visit to the factory earlier today in a bid to offer his support to the project, according to a statement released by his office.

“The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his full support to the investors in Halabja, affirming his readiness to provide facilitations for the investment projects,” the statement said.

The Deputy Prime Minister also called on local investors to compete in the foreign markets by producing high-quality goods, according to the statement.

“The Kurdish investors should outline firm plans so that they can sell their goods in the markets in central and southern provinces of Iraq,” he said.

“The biggest Kurdistan market for its food industry will be in Iraq in the future,” he added.

The statement further added that the Deputy Prime Minister also paid a visit to Rasan olive oil factory which has been established since 2018, exporting its products to all over the region.

The oil olive factory also contributed to enhancing Halabja’s environment, where fifty-thousands of olive trees have been planted during the past five years to sustain the factory’s production.
