SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A member of the Kurdistan Region Parliament on Monday claimed he had survived an assassination attempt.
MP Karwan Gazany from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc said that he had escaped a shooting incident in Koya, Erbil province. He also stated that his driver has been wounded in the incident and waits to see the government’s reaction.
Earlier last night Esta Media Network reporter stated Gaznay escaped a shooting, and the security forces have launched investigations into the incident.
Unofficial reports suggested that Gazany has been targeted by a “highly trained” group.
