KRG discusses developments on restarting crude exports

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) said Sunday it discusses the latest developments on restarting its crude exports via Turkey in the light of the recent Erbil-Baghdad agreement.

KRG said that it is set to carry out its regular weekly meetings co-chaired by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and his Deputy Qubad Talabani.

The agenda of the meeting which is released by the Department of Media and Information indicated that the KRG discusses the latest developments on restarting Kurdish crude exports.

Turkey halted 450,000 bpd of its northern exports through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline on March 25 after an arbitration ruling ordered Ankara to pay Baghdad Damages of $1.5 billion for unauthorized exports by the Kurdistan Regional Government between 2014 and 2018.

The KRG also discusses the re-organization of the Kurdistan Region finance issues, including issues related to terrorism in the broader Iraq, according to the agenda.
