SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) said on Sunday two of its fighters were killed in a “plot” which it accused Iran of carrying out in the Kurdistan Region’s district of Penjwen.

PJAK, an armed Iranian Kurdish opposition group, said the two fighters were “martyred” as they were carrying out their duty in Cham Shler area in Penjwen in February.

“Two persons visited Cham Shler in order to target a group of our comrades. The two hired persons visited our comrades … and carried out their disgusting plot. Our comrades were martyred in an inhuman and brutal way,” the group said in a statement.

The Kurdish group vowed to respond to the “disgusting and inhuman act”.

PJAK named the two fighters as Mehdi Rizayee from Kermanshah and Ako Fathi from Sanandaj.
