PUK, Gorran discuss latest developments, stress bolstering ties

The meeting was carried out in the light of the latest political and developments, stressing the necessity to bolster Gorran-PUK relationships on both governmental and party levels to meet people’s demands and overcome the challenges, according to the statement.

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Change Movement (Gorran) on Tuesday met and discussed the latest developments, including the preparations for the next stage to re-organize the party relationships.

“Co-chaired by Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani and Vice President Mustafa Said Qadirh, the PUK and Gorran joint team in the Sulaimani local government met today,” read a joint statement following the meeting.

“The meeting highlighted re-organizing the relationships, particularly on the sphere of Sulaimani province, and the wider Region as well,” it said.

“The PUK and Gorran made assessments to the current situation, where both sides talked on outlining the policy of joint work and preparations for the next stage,” it added.

The meeting was carried out in light of the latest political and economic developments, stressing the necessity to bolster Gorran-PUK relationships on both governmental and party levels to meet people’s demands and overcome the challenges, according to the statement.

“Both sides agreed that the efforts must go in a direction to further serve the citizens,” and “both teams were tasked to not allow discrimination and political affiliation hinders the implementation of plans aiming at serving Sulaimani.”

The PUK and Gorran have come closer recently, carrying out dozens of meetings on different levels.

They claim that the meetings aim to strengthen inter-party relationships and implement the existing agreements between PUK and Gorran to better serve the people.
