Kurdistan Deputy Premier says he had met with Bulgarian President

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region Deputy Premier on Friday announced he had met with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev in Greece in the context of his visit to partake in the Delphi Economic Forum 2023.

The three-day Forum of Delphi was kicked off last Wednesday in the ancient town of Delphi in Greece with the participation of Europe’s prominent figures.

Talabani said that he discussed the latest political and economic developments as well as the bilateral ties with Bulgari’s Radev in the context of his visit to Greece, according to a post on his Facebook page.

The two sides also stressed the importance of enhancing the ties and re-organization of Kurdistan-Bulgaria relationships.

Talabani further stated, “We should benefit from the developed foreign states’ experience in order to have a better and correct governance to serve the people.”

Speaking on the natural resources that resided in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Talabani noted that “We are with better management of the natural resources to be the source of fortune for all Iraqi components without differences.”

The Deputy Premier also stressed that the hydrocarbon resources within the Kurdistan Region must first meet the local need and later think to be exported abroad.

“We should not rely on oil as the only source of revenue, but rather we should benefit from the other sectors including tourism, agriculture, industry, and the private sector,” He said.
