SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has plans to develop trade and investment sectors in the Region, Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani said on Thursday.

Talabani paid a visit to the community of storing foods in Sulaimani on Thursday morning, saying the project would turn the city to an “important center” for business.

It would provide “thousands of job opportunities” for local workers in the Region, Talabani told reporters.

Head of Sulaimani Chamber of Commerce Sirwan Mohammed said nearly 90 percent of the project had been completed, three years after the deputy premier laid the foundation stone for the project.

According to Talabani, the storage has the ability to store foods for over six months.

Regarding the KRG’s plans for investment, Talabani said the government wants to provide investment opportunities for traders.

“The government has plans to develop the sectors of trade and investment, and for that we need security, tranquility, and cooperation between the institutions,” he noted.
