SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) on Sunday announced that it had carried out a joint operation with Rojava’s Anti-Terror Units (YAT) in Syria’s Haskah province in collaboration with Global Coalition.

The operation was carried out in the south of Haskah province in the Al-Markadh region, where the Kurdistan’s CTG and Rojava’s YAT dismantled an Islamic State (ISIS) cell, according to a statement released by the CTG.

The CTG also affirmed that it will remain committed to destroying ISIS remnants anywhere in collaboration with partners, the statement added.

Speaking on the CTG and YAT joint operation in Syria, the Commander-in-chief of the Kurdish led-Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi stated that “We will never forget the devotion and support of the Counter-Terrorism Forces (CTG) during the difficult days of Rojava’s struggle,” he said in a tweet.

“All the accusations made against this struggling force [CTG] are aimed to mislead the public and distort the facts,” he added.
