SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani received the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives on Friday in Sulaimani.
Discussions covered coordination and cooperation among the constitutional institutions as well as enduring efforts to safeguard the rights of all Iraqi peoples, Talabani’s office read in a statement.
The PUK President also praised the positive role of the Iraqi legislators in voting for recognizing the Kurdish city of Halabaja as the 19th Iraq’s governorate, according to the statement.
Speaking on passing the Federal budget law, the PUK president said that “Guaranteeing the Kurdish people’s rights in the law is a pivotal factor for political and economic stability in the country.”
