SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani in Baghdad on Thursday received Secretary-General of Babylon movement Rayan Al-Kldani.
In the meeting, the two leaders stressed expanding coordination and enhancing relations between the political parties and all components to reach a national agreement and step toward stability in the country, according to a readout.
Discussions also touched upon the fate and representation of the components in the legal and constitutional institutions.
In this regard, Talabani stated that “PUK is strongly against any attempts that jeopardize the spirit of harmony and existence.”
“No political parties should be allowed to decide on the fate of the components on behalf of them,” he added.
Earlier today Talabani held separate meetings with Ammar Al-Hakim, leader of the Hikma movement, and the head of Al-Fateh alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri, discussing developments and Kurdistan-Baghdad relations.
