Two killed near Erbil following mortar shell explosion: reporter

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Two brothers, aged 13 and 16 were killed near Erbil after they played with a mortar shell, Esta reporter on Tuesday said.

The incident occurred on the outskirts of Erbil near Deebiga camp for internally displaced people, according to the reporter.

The explosion report was made at around 1300 local time.

The victims were reportedly Arabs whose occupations were shepherds as well. They died immediately as a result of the mortar shell explosion, the reporter added.

There was no immediate comment from the local authorities on the incident.
