Authorities in Sulaimani warn against wave of diarrhea, vomiting among children

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Health authorities in Sulaimani on Wednesday warned against a wave of diarrhea and vomiting among children.

In a statement, the general directorate of health in Sulaimani said 102 children had been hospitalized in 48 hours due to diarrhea and vomiting.

“Now, a wave of diarrhea and vomiting has spread among children, causing a high number of children to be hospitalized,” it added.

Authorities have warned people of high temperature as well as foods and drinks that are stored in warm places, saying they could cause diarrhea and vomiting.

The Kurdistan Region is in the middle of a heatwave with temperatures rising above 40 degrees (122 Fahrenheit) during the day.
