SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The CONIFA World Football Cup is expected to begin in the city of Sulaiman, according to mayor on Tuesday.
The CONIFA World Football Cup is an international football tournament organized by CONIFA, an umbrella association for states, minorities, stateless peoples, and regions.
Sulaimani mayor Awat Mohammed revealed that they had received a delegation from CONFIA, holding talks regarding hosting the cup in the city.
“Sulaimani will host the CONIFA World Football Cup. The city has the capacity to host all tourists and sports fans who will attend the event,” Awat said.
He also stated that the government and the related authorities “Will offer facilitation to host the football tournament in the Kurdistan Region.”
