SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The election agencies of The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) met on Tuesday for election talks in Erbil.
“The PUK and KDP election agencies at the KDP’s election bureau met in the Kurdistan Region capital, Erbil, Prior to noon,” said Esta reporter.
Elaborating on the meeting the reporter added that the head of the PUK election agency, Rzgar Hama, and Luqman Wardi, a member of the PUK faction attended.
Meanwhile, from the other side, Rebwar Yalda, the head of the KDP election agency, and Zana Mala Khalid, chairman of the KDP faction in the Kurdistan Region parliament partook in the meeting.
There was no official statement regarding the meeting between the two rival sides who have been at odds to pick a time to hold the Kurdistan Region parliamentary election and amendments to the electoral law.
Parliamentary elections are held every four years in the Kurdistan Region with the last one taking place n September 2018.
