Magnitude 4.3 quake rattles Kurdistan Region

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A magnitude 4.3 earthquake rattled the Kurdistan Region early Saturday morning.

The quake epicenter was between Erbil and Mosul province, said the Iraqi Seismological Centre.

“The depth of the quake was 5km and it occurred at 2:25 am local time,” it said.

No damages or injuries were reported, meanwhile, people reported that they felt a second tremor.

Mobile footage circulated on social media in which shows areas near the epicenter of Saturday’s quake people fire gunshots as a warning alarm.

Earlier this month two strong earthquakes rocked neighboring Turkey and Syria, killing above 50,000 people, and marking one of the greatest human catastrophes in mankind’s history.
