SULAIMANI (ESTA) — President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Bafel Talabani Sunday discussed deepening the spirit of coexistence with the spiritual leader of the Qadiri order in the world Sheikh Nahro Muhammad Al-Kasnazan.
The spirit of harmony and the peaceful coexistence between the different components and nations were discussed in the meeting, according to a readout from the PUK president’s office.
Both sides stressed preserving diversity and the culture of mutual acceptance as one of the historical characteristics of the Kurdish society, the readout added.
In the meantime, the PUK President referred to the “role” and “position” of the spiritual leaders’ of the Qadiri order in Kurdistan’s history including their efforts for the sake of public good and the development of the idea of moderation within the society.
“We must all work to bolster the spirit of coexistence with a Kurdish as well as human spirit. This is one of the old-rooted features of our society that we are proud of it,” Talabani said.
