SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The prime minister of Iraq on Thursday arrived in Paris for an official visit, the state news (INA) reported.
Accompanied by a senior governmental delegation, prime minister Mohammed al-Sudani left the Iraqi capital for France.
The Prime Minister had earlier said, “the Iraqi government today is more convinced of its vision to develop Iraq’s regional and international relations on the basis of cooperation and balance.”
“The Iraqi government is adopting a policy of partnership with many countries of the world, foremost among them France,” he added
December last year, French President Emmanuel Macron invited Iraq’s prime minister to France.
Back then, Macron said the two leaders have agreed to reinforce bilateral cooperation between France and Iraq and that France would help Iraq in its fight against terrorism and attacks on its sovereignty.
