Deputy prime minister receives German Minister of State in Erbil

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) deputy prime minister, Qubad Talabani, received The German Minister of State Tobias Lindner and his accompanying delegation, on Thursday in Erbil.

The Kurdish and German officials discussed the political situation of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, the senior German delegation expressed their eagerness to compromise and agreement between the Kurdistan Region political parties.

They also stressed the importance of resolving any issues between Kurdistan-Baghdad through dialogue for the sake of stability and public interest, the press release said.

Moreover, the deputy prime minister discussed the reforms within the Ministry of Peshmerga, praising Germany’s role in the process over the support that they offered in the reorganization of the Peshmerga forces, according to the press release.

In the meantime, the deputy prime minister pointed out Germany’s vital role in coordination with the Kurdistan Region organizations of caviar society, particularly in the fields of combating domestic violence and expanding the norm of freedom of expression.
