Turkish warplanes bomb areas in Duhok’s Gara Mountain

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkish warplanes on Wednesday bombed areas in Duhok province’s Gara Mountain, resulting in no casualties. 

According to information obtained by Esta, the Turkish warplanes attacked targets in areas near Gara mountain.

No casualties were reported by Kurdish authorities or locals from the surrounding villages, however, it caused fear among villagers in the area.

The Turkish offensives in the Kurdistan Region – particularly aerial bombing – have prompted hundreds of villagers to flee their homes.

Turkey’s attacks in the Kurdistan Region back to a deep-rooted conflict with Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) which mainly maintains its bases in the Kurdistan Region. It has conducted numerous ground and aerial cross-border offensives into neighboring northern Iraq to attack PKK fighters.
