Police say Kurdistan saw 183 deliberate murders during 2022

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region recorded 183 “deliberate murders” during 2022, according to annual data released by police on Wednesday.

Spokesman of the general directorate of police Karzan Amir said 183 “deliberate murders” along with 32 “manslaughters” have been recorded during the last year.

The police spokesman further said there were 240 cases of “suicide”. 

Police also recorded as many as 5931 cases of “theft” and 1398 cases of “forgery”, he said in a press conference.

The Region’s Security forces also arrested 324 people over drug offenses in 2022, he noted.

As many as 5206 cases of “threatening” were recorded during the year, he continued.
