Kurdistan Region president to meet Macron in Paris

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Tuesday, according to the Region’s presidency.

Barzani will pay a visit to France at the invitation of Macron, the Kurdistan Region’s presidency said in a statement.

Both presidents will discuss relations between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and France as well as the latest developments in Kurdistan, Iraq and the region, the statement read.

They will also discuss several other topics including duty of U.S.-led Coalition forces and the importance of assistance to fight Islamic State (ISIS), the presidency said.

In July 2019, the Region’s president visited Paris and met with Macron.
