SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The newly-appointed Danish Ambassador to Iraq, Christian Thorning on Wednesday visited the General Directorate of the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) where he reiterated his support.
General Director of the CTG Wahab Halabjai received Ambassador Thorning in Sulaimani, a Press release said.
The two sides discussed the security and military developments while stressing providing a suitable ground to improve their relations and coordination between the CTG and Danish forces and the continuity of military actions to root out terrorism.
For his part, Ambassador Thorning stressed the continuity of Denmark’s role as a member of NATO in Iraq in supporting the Peshmerga forces, the CTG forces, and the Iraqi forces to combat terror for the sake of “more” stability.
Discussions also touched upon the Kurdistan Region and the overall region situation as well as external and regional dangers in the Region, according to the press release.
