PUK delegation meets Kurdistan Region political parties

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) visited the headquarters of the Change Movement (Gorran) on Thursday and met with its National Council.

The PUK delegation met with the members of the Gorran National Council in Sulaimani, where the sides reaffirmed to improve their cooperation, a joint statement following the meeting said.

The statement regarding Gorran and PUK’s meeting did not further elaborate.

However, the PUK delegation meeting with Gorran officials was followed by fresh series of meetings with the Kurdistan Region political parties recently.

According to a separate statement, the PUK delegation has also met with Mohammed Haji Mahmood, the leader of the Kurdistan Socialist Party at the same time.

The meeting with the Kurdistan Socialist Party took place in Sulaimani’s Sharazur area where the hosting party’s headquarters is located, during which they reaffirmed their “historical” partnership.

“The delegation has conveyed the PUK concern to Gorran and the Socialist Party over the current manner of governance of the Kurdistan Region,” the statement said.

Furthermore, the sides have reiterated that the occurring events are the consequence of an “autocracy will”.

“All of the occurring events are the consequence of an autocracy will that seeks to ignore the role of other parties of the Kurdistan Region,” the statement added, without adding more details.

“We cannot further continue in such a situation,” the parties have warned, according to the statement

Recently, earlier, the delegation met with the Kurdistan Justice Group and the Islamic Union of Kurdistan as well.
