Deputy Prime Minister receives EU Ambassador to Iraq

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister on Friday received the European Union’s Ambassador to Iraq, Ville Varjola.

Talabani and Varjola highlighted the environmental crises and their repercussions, including the best way to tackle them, according to Talabani’s press office.

They also underscored that environmental issues must be prioritized in politics in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The two sides discussed several plans of cooperation between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Federal government to outline joint strategies against environmental crises.

In a bid to address the crises Talabani urged the European Union to offer further assistance to the KRG, his office added.
