SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Multiple rockets on Wednesday were fired toward the Kurdistan Region’s key gas field, Khor Mor, a source said.
A source inside the Khor Mor gas field revealed to Esta Media Network that at approximately 2000 local time multiple rockets were fired toward the field.
It caused neither casualties nor material damages, the source said. And no group has claimed the responsibility.
Khor Mor is a natural gas field located in Sulaimani’s province chamchamal district.
Inside the facility, the United Arab Emirates-based private energy company of Dana Gas operates.
It’s one of the two biggest fields for natural gas production in Iraq, producing around 452 million cubic feet per day of gas.
Dana Gas started production from Khor Mor in 2008. Recently, during the past few months, the field targeted several times by rockets but none of them were caused serious damage or human losses.
