SULAIMANI (ESTA) —  Turkey reopened its visa application centers for the citizens of the Kurdistan Region on Monday after a short period of time closure.

After ten days of halting from granting Turkish visas and temporary closure of the visa centers in the Kurdistan Region by Turkey itself since July 21, Esta Media Network has learned that the country has reopened its visa application centers on Monday.

Esta reporter cited a travel agency as saying that Turkey has reopened its visa centers in the Kurdistan Region and the people are able to apply for it.

The temporary closure of the visa centers came after the Turkish artilleries on July 20 targeted a touristic site in a resort located in Duhok province northwest of the Region.

The attack killed and injured 34 Arab holidaymakers who visited the area for a short trip, and thus sparked a widespread reaction among the Iraqi people, they stormed the Turkish diplomatic missions in Iraq including its embassy in Baghdad.

As the result, the Turkish government temporally closed its visa centers in the Kurdistan Region as a precautionary measure to be attacked and save the employees.
