Iran detains 10 undercover agents, who crossed border from Kurdistan Region

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iran’s state TV (IRNA) reported on Wednesday that the Iranian inelegance service arrested 10 people who entered the country’s territory from the Kurdistan Region and intended to commit explosions and sabotage its institutions.  

According to a statement received by IRNA from Iran’s intelligence service (Ettela’at), “10 members of a terrorist network, who intended to sabotage the Islamic Republic facilities and economic institutions were arrested”.

It points out that they crossed the border from the Kurdistan Region into Iran’s soil, according to IRNA.

Iran has officially warned the Kurdistan Region officials about hosting foreign intelligence agencies compounds in the Region’s territory.

Previously in March, the Iranian revolutionary guard corps (IRGC) had attacked the Region’s capital, at least 15 missiles struck the house of a Kurdish businessman, saying it targeted an Israeli strategic center in Erbil.
