Iraq announces the production of first domestic artillery

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq’s military industrialization factory announced the production of its first domestic artillery on Wednesday.

“The D-30 artillery was entered into military service which is the first domestic artillery production of Iraq,” Hani Abdullah, director of the Ibn Al-Haytham factory, affiliated with the Military Industrialization Authority told Iraqi news agency (INA).

“It is the first D-30 in the world to be wheeled artillery,” Abdullah said, according to (INA).

Iraq has increased its attempts to rely on the production of domestic arms. Recently on June 1, the country announced the production of the first domestic drone as well. While on Sunday The first Iraq-made pistol was unveiled. Named Babil Pistol, the first one was presented to Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadimi by the manufacturer.
