Drone strike carried out on Erbil casualties reported: Kurdistan CT

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A powerful explosion was reported in Erbil a moment ago, said Esta Media Network reporter on Wednesday.

Esta’s correspondent said, a powerful explosion was heard on Pirmam-Erbil main road, and dozens of vehicles were damaged as the result.

Following the explosion, the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism group or ‘Kurdistan CT’, released a statement saying “An explosive drone has targeted the Pirmam-Erbil main road”

“Three people were wounded and resulted in material damage as well,” it said.

This is the second explosion incident that took place in Erbil in a single week, earlier on Monday, A vehicle exploded in the ‘Setaqan’ neighborhood of Erbil, Kurdistan Region.

Following the Monday’s explosion, the Directorate General of Counter-Terrorism (CTD) or ‘Kurdistan CT’ issued a statement saying, “One man was wounded, as the result of a bomb that linked to his vehicle,”

The Directorate General of Counter-Terrorism (CTD) or ‘Kurdistan CT’ is part of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC), it’s mainly based in Erbil, operating under the control of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
