SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi forces detained three senior Islamic State (ISIS) members in Baghdad, the country’s military said on Sunday.
In a statement, Iraq’s security media cell said the three ISIS leaders, named as Abu Shahab, Abu Sara and Abu Yaaqub, were detained during an operation carried out by intelligence units in Baghdad.
“They confessed that they had carried out terrorists acts in Akbar province,” it added.
The intelligence agency “will continue its qualitative and proactive operations to eliminate defeated remnants of ISIS.”
