600 citizens were murdered during May, says Baghdad’s forensic medicine

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The forensic medicine department of Baghdad said in a statement on Monday that more than 600 citizens were killed in various accidents last May.

Homicide crimes in Iraq are increased to a very substantial level, the statistics are critical, the number of those who were murdered in the different homicide crimes during last month is much higher than those citizens who died by terrorist acts in one year, the forensic department said.

“600 citizens were murdered in May in the entire country, 16 of them were foreigners,” the statement said.

“68% of victims were male, %32 were female,” it added.

The statement further said that %36 homicide acts are carried out by gunshots.
